Project Ellie Walking in Another’s Shoes Sock Drive

Socks are the most needed but least donated item at homeless shelters.

A sock drive is a perfect project for a club to help organize into a schoolwide event!

Socks are easy to collect and to transport!

PROJECT ELLIE WILL HELP:

  • with organizing

  • with all promotional material

  • with funding in all capacities

The sock drive can also be carried out competitively between classes or advisories.

ADDITIONALLY:

Students who help organize the sock drive will have the opportunity to come to Boston and get first-hand experience on the streets distributing items to homeless folks. A Lunch and Learn program with Bridge Over Troubled Waters, Boston's only homeless shelter for teens, is included.

MORE OPTIONS:

  • Tour Pine Street Inn, New England's largest homeless services provider.

  • Participate in school-wide Walking in His Shoes essay contest.
