Emma grew up in Pelham, a small town in Southern NH and was brought up by parents who taught her the value of family and community.

Emma graduated from UNH in 2014 with a BS in Social Work and received her M.ED. from Fitchburg State in 2019. She has taught English as a second language, literacy learning intervention, and kindergarten for the past eight years.

Patti had the pleasure of meeting Emma at Pelham High School, where Emma was her student in four of her classes.  Patti immediately loved Emma’s energy, her can-do spirit, and her inherent sense of equity among all students. When Emma and Patti’s daughter, Ellie, became roommates at UNH their freshman year, that sealed a lasting bond between Patti and Emma.

Emma has always loved to help people, and when Patti started Project Ellie, she was one of the first to get involved holding a donation drive. She has also worked at the Dover Children’s Home and has volunteered at Lucky Dog Thrift Shop - a nonprofit which helps low income families pay their vet bills. As a passionate pug mama to her pug, Chipmunk, she also donates to and plans to increase her involvement at the Green Mountain Pug Rescue.

Emma lives in downtown Dover NH with her husband Derek and of course, Chipmunk! She is passionate about travel and helping people, and she will continue to bring endless energy, smart thinking, and an abundance of creativity to Project Ellie.
